Klas has a passion for transforming the construction industry and want to capitalize on his experience within the American construction industry to broaden the reach of Lean and Integrated Project Delivery into the global field of construction. The potential from an the exchange and an increased involvement of Scandinavian thoughts and ideas in the American construction community and vice versa is tremendous.
Klas Berghede has been a leader in Construction and Integrated Lean Project Delivery since 2007 and with his career in the manufacturing and product design industry since 1998.
As a leader in the lean construction community, Klas is working with numerous professional and research oriented entities to pioneer the industrialization of production planning and delivery in the construction industry. Most notably through his work promoting a more holistic approach to production planning in construction that is now being applied to Hospital and Commercial projects throughout the USA, Europe and South America.
Professionally, Klas is currently responsible for the Production Planning of the ongoing $2.5B, 1M SQFT, signature Sutter/CPMC Hospital project down town San Francisco and various large cap construction projects delivered throughout the US.
Klas makes an example of working with both senior leadership and workers to promote open communication and eliminate ‘assumption-based decision-making’ with a demonstrated track record of leading the analysis of construction and management processes as well as strategic planning to eliminate waste and optimize production and challenge status quo. In these efforts, Klas often refer back to his experiences in Sweden working as both a construction worker as well as from production planning and supply chain optimization in manufacturing.
